Ministry websites are vital for reaching an unlimited audience throughout the world, but a strong social media presence is essential in order to make a big impact among the youth.  If you are having trouble understanding how to leverage social media to benefit your church, you should consider networking with people that do.  These tactics from the younger generation should help you build and maintain a strong presence on social networks.

Follow The Trend But Stay Relevant

Most trends develop quickly these days and you might get left behind if you’re not quick to understand them.  For instance, memes have risen into some of the best ways to engage the youth.  However, in your endeavors to keep up, make sure you maintain a balance as you shouldn’t overuse a trend.  The first step is to know what your audience likes and ensure your message never gets lost while staying relevant.

Consistency Is Key

Facebook, Instagram, and other social platforms are very effective when you want to connect with a large audience.  Yet, unless you post frequently, your following will easily dwindle and your church’s presence won’t have a substantial impact in the end.  For that reason, consider posting at least twice a week and answer comments in a helpful way.

Be Persistent

As with any other marketing platform, you should never expect to see benefits immediately after implementing a social media plan.  Before you gain thousands of followers or subscribers, you need to strategize and realize this is a process that will take time.

Most churches are linking their social media profiles to their ministry websites.  That way, they enable followers on social media to find out about their ministry quickly and conveniently.  Even if you have a large following on social media, listen to what the younger generation recommends as it could lead to more followers and help the congregation grow!
